The Summer Project is an annual event which is always the highlight of the year. It is held during the summer vacation, usually from mid July to mid August. It aims at equipping participants with voluntary skills and raising their social awareness. The project envisions cultivating community conscience in students by requiring them to be in charge of a service project, with guidance from ambassadors of the organizing committee. We believe that by fulfilling the tasks under our supervision, participants will learn the essential voluntary skills, understand the importance of serving others and will be better equipped for the challenges that are to come.

The target group of this year’s project is children. There will be a total of 120 secondary students who are enthusiastic in voluntary services from various schools joining this project. The project will be divided into four sessions: an Orientation Day, a 3-day-and-2-night Voluntary Skills and Leadership Training Camp, a two-week Service Project and a Closing Ceremony.

The Orientation Day is to provide chance for the participants to meet their team-mates and be familiarized with the project.

The Voluntary Training camp is to train the leadership and voluntary skills of the participants. They will also learn to take care of children and the way in serving them.

A two-week Service project: the 12 groups will then be sub-divided into 4 batches. They will then organize the services themselves; it is a time for them to utilize what they have learned in the training camp.

Lastly, the Closing Ceremony is an occasion for the groups to present their service projects to the others and celebrate the completion of the whole project together.
